About Jody Berman

How did you become a Professional Organizer?

I always wanted my own business and left advertising to pursue a degree and career in interior design. I did a lot of organizing with decorating clients and found that the organizing was more enjoyable than the design work. I didn’t know I could make a career out of organizing until I read about it in a women’s magazine under post-partum pick-me-ups! Honestly. That was my “AHA” moment when I realized that everything I’d done in the past led me to this career. So Organized! was born in 1996; I joined NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers), and I never looked back.

Being organized makes me feel better and more in control of my life. My goal with So Organized! has been to provide a service that enables everyone to experience that same feeling.

Isn’t it hard to stay organized?

You’ve contacted me, because you’re ready to make a change. You can’t stand how you feel about your stuff, your space, your stress. Once you experience the benefits of being organized you won’t want to  return to feeling overwhelmed. The So Organized! systems are easy to learn and maintain. I use these systems myself, so I know they work.

I can help you make positive changes in your life; that’s my key value.
The guilt associated with being disorganized is usually self-imposed and unproductive. Recognizing what you want and that you need help achieving what you want is a tremendous step forward.

My clients have told me they feel “lighter” after our sessions, motivated to move forward and accomplish more of their goals.
Because they feel more in control of their own world, my clients feel less stress and more satisfaction.

I believe strongly in setting goals, both large and small, and defining the steps necessary to achieve them. This is probably one of the things that attracted me to karate a few years ago, each colored belt signifying a small goal. I’m happy to say that with a lot of hard work, sweat and tears, I received my ultimate goal, the black belt. My sport of choice now is golf and right now there are too many goals to list them all here. What do these sports and organizing have in common? It’s all about the basics. You need a good, solid foundation on which to build and when something isn’t working, go back to the basics.

I’ve been featured on Long Island’s News 12 morning show and in the following publications: NY Times, Newsday, LI Business News, Woman’s Day, Home, and the Herald-Mail.

What our clients say...
I was stopped in my tracks
Overwhelmed and in pain
But you soon led me to hope
That this chaos could be changed
The work wasn't easy
One mountain after another to face
But at last we reached a sweet reward
And now order has been restored to this place
I may be able to smile with ease
and anticipate what lies in store
Because you helped me to truly own
That, indeed, less is more!
